COLOUR / BALANCE - FRESTONIAN GALLERY

Frestonian Gallery is delighted to present work by contemporary and modern artists exploring the boundless possibilities of geometric abstraction. The precisely measured and exquisitely realised lines of Sol LeWitt, Bridget Riley and Lothar Goetz, contrast with the more painterly employment of standard geometric forms as are found in the work of Andre Lanskoy and William Stein. Also included are works that subvert the 'high' mathematical air, such as in the incidentally formed linear patterns in the works of Dan Shaw-Town, or in the tongue-in-cheek appropriation, by Eduardo Paolozzi in his seminal print-work 'B.A.S.H' 1971, of Frank Stella's grand abstract motifs.

EXHIBITION DATES: 11th December 2020 - 11th January 2020
