PUBLIC ART SHINES IN WEST LONDON

Living Gallery for all to enjoy

Public Art in West London

The Royal Drawing School once again brought a burst of colour and creativity to Bard Road, Notting Hill with their much-loved annual Hoarding Painting Day, a highlight of the School’s prestigious postgraduate art programme. What began as a day of outdoor painting has grown into a joyful celebration of imagination, collaboration, and artistic energy — transforming the streets around Notting Dale Campus W11 into a living gallery for all to enjoy.

Supported by Notting Dale, this vibrant tradition invites emerging artists to make their mark on the local landscape, bringing together students, neighbours, and passers-by in a shared celebration of creativity. This year, under the warm autumn sunshine, Bard Road was transformed by 18 stunning new murals — each one bursting with colour, character, and individuality. From abstract compositions to playful figurative scenes, the murals reflect the incredible diversity of talent nurtured by the Royal Drawing School’s postgraduate community.

The celebration doesn’t end there. Just around the corner, at 111 Freston Road, the Breakers Pop Up Art Space keeps the spirit of artistic exploration alive year-round. This creative hub in West London offers gifted young artists the opportunity to exhibit their work, experiment, and connect with new audiences. It’s a space where fresh ideas, bold visions, and local energy come together — keeping Notting Dale’s artistic pulse strong.

All of this forms part of the wider Monsoon art collection, a remarkable and evolving body of contemporary artwork displayed throughout Notting Dale Campus W11. The collection features works by established and emerging artists alike, offering daily inspiration to everyone who studies, works, or visits the site. Together, the murals, pop-up exhibitions, and curated artworks make Notting Dale Campus a true destination for art lovers — a place where creativity spills from the studios into the streets, reminding us all how art can uplift, connect, and transform.

So, whether you’re strolling through Notting Hill or stepping inside Notting Dale Campus to see the Monsoon collection, don’t forget to pause, take it all in, and smile. There’s a whole world of creativity waiting to brighten your day — right here in W11!
